We’re getting back into the swing of things, and that means the odd post from here and there. Here’s what’s been going on in the world of Geekvites and what you can expect:

1. We’re in heavy R&D mode for invitations. Trust us, when we debut them, your mind will be like this:

Until then, it’s like waiting for a new season of your fav show. We’ll our best to floor you and make it worth the wait.

Why hello there, fellow lovers of the last of the Time Lords! We’re wrapping up our little shindig celebrating the creations of Doctor Who fans around the world. We’ve got a lot of ground to cover, it’s just too bad we can’t travel by police box.

…or can we?!

It doesn’t really look bigger on the inside, but like Sheriff Rottingham says: “It’s not the size that matters, it’s how you USE IT!”

We apologize for crossing references. We do not apologize for crossing the streams, cause that’d be awesome.

While you may not own a full-fledged Tardis grown from sexy space coral, you can travel in style with this amazingly detailed Tardis tote (hey, alliteration!) It costs a pretty penny, but – just LOOK at it. It’s beautiful. We wish we had 10 of them.

Doctor Who Wedding Attire

A wedding by the sea, in an elegant dress. Who can’t swoon?

For the groom that’s slim and a little bit foxy – but, does he have converse sneakers on? NO ONE CAN KNOW!

This lovely gal sports an elegant veil with a dash of that lovely Police Box blue festooned in her hair. We love it!

For the ladies that don’t wanna wear Converse, these stylishly opulent heels definitely show where your allegiances lie.

Is it just us, or do these ruffly ruffles remind anyone of a Time Vortex? OH GOD, don’t stare into it for too long! I hear drumbeats! DRUMBEATS!

Nevermind, those weren’t drumbeats. They were just my pulse quickening when scoping out this amazingly adorable corset emblazoned with Gallifreyan finery, and of course, our favorite spaceship ever.

And since we’re dancing on the risque side of things, no honeymoon can be complete without a pair of Gallifreyan panties. We’ll refrain from making any sonic screwdriver jokes. Maybe. AHEM! Let’s class it up a bit…

Like fez, bowties are just cool. We can’t say anything else. We just can’t.

Seeking a respite from the uncountable hours spent picking up gold slaying demons in Diablo 3, my fiance and I went on an epic multi-city photoshoot road trip with but two goals in mind:

1. Take glamourous on location photos in a purely geeky fashion of our newly arrived beautiful samples.
2. Do not die from dehydration in the unforgiving California sun.

(We mostly succeeded.)

One amazing benefit of living in the City of Angels is that we’re in such close proximity of amazing movie locations and beautiful architecture. With that in mind, we ventured through the valley taking shots of our designs in their “native” environments.

Please enjoy the fruits of our energy-drink fueled labor.

We’ve just finished up a fancy photo shoot (we ALMOST had real lightboxes and EVERYTHING!) with a bunch of our designs and we’re super stoked how they’ve turned out. Here’s a preview of what’s to come!

With the full release of this, we’ll also be giving you more information on paper styles, what they look/feel like and more! You’ll ALSO get to see some NEW paper we’ve been testing out – it’s premium quality, iridescent and we really think it’ll work marvelously for our designs.

A CLARION CALL! #newMIBraps (no spoilers!)

We at Geekvites can appreciate the campy and the geeky. And we’re just all sorts of special, so we were more than pleased to hear that MIB3 still kept to the campiness which made the original so endearing back in 1997.

(I mean, come on, Tommy Lee Jones + Will Smith + Aliens = EVERYTHING WE’VE EVER LOVED.)

But you know what’s missing this time around? THIS:

You know what we got instead? You know what ISN’T beautiful? Pitbull. Yes. Some random international music…guy who had NOTHING TO DO WITH THE MOVIE sad face sad face upside down smile.

We want to rectify this. We want our man Will Smith to deliver us from Pitbull. DELIVER US FROM PITBULL! What we’re asking from YOU is your support to fix this lack of Smithitude.

Let us present our case to get Will Smith to do a MIB3 rap ( which, by the way, would totally make up for The Legend of Bagger Vance ):

1. Will Smith is a geek. A geek that makes this look good.

He even named his daughter Willow. (We know what that was really all about.)

2 . The Willenium is real and we’re living in it right now.

Let’s revisit the MIB video again – what did this do? It made the movie more appealing mainstream. Will Smith is a talented artist. He makes catchy music. He makes great scifi flicks.

Will Smith continues to bless the internet with weird things even today and he doesn’t even try; Woll Smoth, Tada, and more which are shamelessly ripped off and re-appropriated by unimaginative bloggers across the globe.

3. Will Smith is Always Available to Welcome You To Earth.

At best, we hope that this becomes the spark that lights a revolution leading to a full fledged romp of goodness for a DVD extra.

At worst, we hope to get enough attention that Will Smith actually sees our sincere  plea and decides to, I don’t know, rap about an unrelated non-Sony property about aliens on his MacBook while eating a bowl of cereal one morning for a couple minutes. Maybe they could even throw a pug in it. That’d be neat. Still a win.

Any amount of rappin’ Will Smith is better than none which, we remind you, is our CURRENT STATE OF AFFAIRS.

We cannot thank you guys enough for all the love given to us over the past few days. We’ve really been pleasantly surprised by the reception of the idea and we couldn’t be more glad you guys enjoy our initial 10 designs so much. We’ll be catching up on orders over the holiday weekend as our printer (another bride-powered small superstar muchos grande’ excellente business like us) is currently closed for Memorial Day – please be aware of this if you put in an order over the holiday!

So here’s a sneak peek on what we’ve got in store for you this week:

• Pages describing and showing in detail exactly what our paper looks/feels like with notes on any similar paper available in craft stores.
• More designs! We’ve gotten questions about several different themes, and we’re already hastily scribbling away to make the other fandoms happy!

• We’ll be doing some writeups on how to plan weddings around differing fandoms, with awesome tips and advice.

After weeks of sleepless nights spent searching through infinite lines of code and putting some rocket fuel into Photoshop to see if it made things go quicker, we’ve finally arrived at our launch. Geekvites now totters out into the world, innocent and wide-eyed, like a tender babe.

What’ll it turn into, after being exposed to the raw eyes of potential customers? No one knows!

We’re starting things small with 10 initial offerings, but we’re already working on more.
