Geekvites is the brainchild of two friends who suddenly sensed a great disturbance in the wedding community, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror, then were silenced.
(That’s what we tell ourselves, anyway. There’s also some cats involved. It’s the internet, so you know, they’re kind of a requirement.)
We’re just two geeky friends who put our heads together, like a Wacom wielding, Twitter tweeting super hydra. (Cut one head off, and two cats will spring in its place. True story.)
Seeing a lack of that certain something, that panache of unmistakable, cheeky geekiness in the realm of easily accessible wedding gear, Geekvites was born — bathed in the flaming madness of sleepless nights debating and discussing designs, endless coding torture, and with the overall desire to do one thing: to bring a smile to the lips of your friends with beautiful designs at an affordable price.
Think of us as the little wink or the tip of the hat to your fellow geeks when you announce your union and invite them to join in — in times where people go bonkers for themed weddings, we can think of no better way to enshrine your deeply held fandoms with your closest friends and relatives than with our amazingly awesome geeky designs!
Who Are These Guys?
Tammy (Game artist, animator, & shark enthusiast) provides the pretty pixels of every piece of visual candy you see featured here… including the site design, invitations, paper selection and more. As a soon-to-be-wed geeky gal herself, she completely relates to any companion out there who just really likes Time Lords. She and her soon-to-be-husband (who tends to serve as our cultural attache’ to the geekdoms she hasn’t immersed herself in yet) reside in fabulous southern California, living the geek dream near Doc Brown’s house from 1985.
Phil (game designer, writer and veteran SEO and marketing consultant) provides most of the words you see. Really, he’s just filled with them– he just kind of has to shake a little bit and they fall right out. It’s kind of beautiful and horrifying at the same time, like Victorian clowns exploding. He also serves as the hamster-in-the-wheel as overall operations, marketing and development of Geekvites. As a man whose geeky history stretches back into the insanely old but awesome retro text games, he brings his warped, addled ramblings from a wide range of genres in addition to his marketing expertise. He and his girlfriend live in Florida, where they eagerly await to adopt their first cat. In the interim, they stock up on cheeseburgers, waiting for the cat quickening.
